Application of cultured stone, real stone or brick to the exterior of a custom home is best handled by building a concrete block wall and adhering the stone to the face using thin set or mortar.

You can apply the stone to a wood frame, but it’s not my preference, for no other reason then the different rates of expansion/contraction of the different materials. It is critical that the material holding the facade match the material of the facade so each will work together over the long term life of your custom home.
